World Population Day
Zoom

The importance of demographic and epidemiological knowledge on populations and their interrelationship with their health, which has underpinned the justification for the running of the CISA Health and Demographic Surveillance System ever since 2009, as well as the main challenges facing the global population along with a special focus on the socio-demographic situation in Sub-Saharan Africa and especially Angola were among the key issues under analysis.

In addition to CISA members of staff, the session was attended by healthcare professionals at Bengo General Hospital.

11th July has become the United Nations approved World Population Day in order to raise awareness about the importance of population issues worldwide. Themes including ageing populations, childhood mortality, fertility, population imbalances and public health are among the issues at the core of these global concerns.
