Mauer Gonçalves, a CISA researcher, cardiology specialist and professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Agostinho Neto University, defended his doctoral degree thesis entitled “Electrocardiographic alterations and their association with cardiovascular risk factors in a study of a population sample in Northern Angola” at the Agostinho Neto University in Luanda.

This represents the first doctoral degree thesis in the health field, specialising in Biomedical Science, defended at the Agostinho Neto University in Angola and counted upon an international jury made up of professors and researchers from Angola, Portugal and Brazil.
