In April 2014, CISA hosted the researcher Ryan Torkz from the University of South Florida. The objective of this visit involved the exchange of knowledge as regards Filariasis, especially on field sampling deploying light based traps for mosquitoes (Anopheles spp) and Nzi traps for flies (Chrysops spp).
Under the auspices of this partnership, a presentation took place to the CISA team of researchers and specialists and the healthcare professionals from Caxito General Hospital on working in the entomologic field within the framework of raising the profile of the project being undertaken with CISA in relation to identifying the vector and means of controlling Filariasis.
