This initiative results from a partnership between CISA, the Angolan Ministry of Health (Bengo Provincial Directorate of Health and the National Program for the Control of Neglected Tropical Diseases), the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (United Kingdom) and the University of South Carolina (United States of America) and seeks to survey the prevalence of loiasis, onchocerciasis, lymphatic filariasis and Guinea worm in Bengo province through recourse to a swift filariasis evaluation procedure. The first project phase involves administering some 2,000 questionnaires to a representative sample of the adults resident in the field of study.
