The 8th Round of demographic updating, which began on 24th July 2013, came to a close on 20th December 2013. In the meanwhile, the data collected is undergoing digitalisation.

Interviews took place in a total of 15,646 households and recorded a total of 1,542 events related to the fertility and mortality of the population living in the study area (939 births, 412 observed pregnancies and 191 deaths).
In addition to the regular updating of the demographic data within the framework of recording and subsequently analysing the longitudinal data, the DSS fieldwork team acted in support of Dande Municipal Council in the reorganisation of a set of neighbourhoods with this process resulting in the issuing of around 2,600 identification plates and thereby duly registering the respective family households.
