CISA researchers counted among those present at the annual congress of the “American Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene” (ASTMH), in Maryland, the United States.

Miguel Brito and Claudia Fançony Videira participated in the congress with the submission of two posters detailing the projects “Sickle Cell Anemia and Fetal Hemoglobin. Genetic modifiers in an Angolan Children Cohort” and the “Effectiveness of nutrition and WASH/malaria educational community-based interventions in reducing anemia and its etiologies in preschool children from Bengo, Angola: a cluster-randomized controlled trial”.

CISA was in attendance for the third time at the world’s largest congress on this specialist field and dedicated to researchers, professors, doctors, students and all healthcare professionals working in the fields of tropical medicine, hygiene and global health.
