The 9th round of the Dande Demographic Surveillance System was launched in February. This study is designed to update the socio-demographic characteristics of the population resident in the area of study as well as the living conditions of the over 15 thousand households.
In addition to the regular indicators providing insights into the resident population and the levels of exposure to health determining factors, this study also introduced a specific module on malaria prevention measures. The 9th round is due for completion in late July of this year and adds to the vast body of information gathered for analytical purposes by the CISA team and shared with the broader scientific community and correspondingly generating the scope for comparison with national and international data (e.g. the Angolan Inquiry into Malaria Indicators and the worldwide Demographic Health Surveys).
