CISA – the Health Research Centre of Angola took part in the biannual meeting of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH), an event designed to measure and discuss progress in activities interrelated with global health and the best means of maximising their impact.

The poster presented by the CISA researcher, Cláudia Fançony, entitled “Epidemiologic transition in northern Angola: Discussion of cumulative results from CISA (Health Research Centre of Angola)” dealt with epidemiologic transition and duly recognised the growing importance of non-transmittable diseases in developing countries.

The CISA participation in this event was sponsored by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Wellcome Trust, through the RSTMH.

The event, held in Oxford, counted on the participation of academics, NGOs, financiers and HRH Princess Anne.
