CISA was in attendance at the 60th annual meeting of the American Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Society, held in Philadelphia in the United States between the 4th and 8th December 2011.

On 30th December  2011, the data collection phase to the "Arterial hypertension in an adult population in Bengo province: magnitude and conditioning factors" project came to a close.

Within the scope of the second phase of the ethno-botanical survey, the CISA Project launched its collection of plants utilised for medicinal purposes in Mabubas and Úcua.

Three CISA researchers participated in the 11th INDEPTH (International Network for the continuous Demographic Evaluation of Populations and Their Health) Scientific Conference.

CISA was duly represented at the 2nd National Conference on Science and Technology held on 19th and 20th October, in Luanda, with the presentation of two posters.

In Luanda, on 12th October, the Calouste Gulbenkian and Eduardo dos Santos foundations signed a Partnership Protocol.

The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Trustee, Dr. Isabel Mota and the Director of Gulbenkian Institute of Science and CISA Scientific Council President, António Coutinho, visited CISA on 11th October.

The data collection phase to the "Arterial hypertension in an adult population in Bengo province: magnitude and conditioning factors" began on 10th October 2011. 

The CISA Project was represented at the 7th European Tropical Medicine and International Healthcare Congress, held in Barcelona, Spain.

Held on 29th September, in the Bengo Provincial Government auditorium, the CISA Project team meeting was attended by over fifty members of staff.
