On 18th March 2013, CISA began the second phase of the study on controlling Schistosomiasis in children aged between five and fifteen.

With the objective of evaluating the current state of CISA Project and plan its future, delegations from the Gulbenkian Foundation and the Camões Institute for Cooperation and Language visited Angola.

From 10 to 18 December, CISA carried out the "Effectiveness of controlling Schistosomiasis in children aged from 2 to 15 in Bengo Province, Angola" project pilot study in the Cabungo neighbourhood.

The CISA Project ran a training course between December 3rd and 5th 2012, open to laboratory technicians from different hospitals in Angola.

On October 30th, Dr. João da Câmara, Ambassador of Portugal to Luanda, visited Project CISA on the occasion of his official visit to Bengo Province.

The Genetic and Biochemical Laboratorial Training Program took place at the David Bernardino Paediatric Hospital Molecular Biology Laboratory in Luanda between October 8th and 11th.

The CISA Project presented a poster to the 18th International Tropical Medicine and Malaria Congress in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Between September 10th and 13th, the CISA Project staged a Parasitology training program for twelve laboratory technicians.

The article entitled "Various pfcrt and pfmdr1 genotypes of Plasmodium falciparum co-circulate with P. malariae, P. ovale sp and P. vivax in northern Angola" was published.
