CISA hosted three graduate year students from the Methodist University Clinical Analysis and Public Health Degree in partnership with the NGO DW Angola in a program launched in February 2014.

Throughout the next two years, CISA shall be implementing the project “Epidemiology of the hemoglobinopathies: genetic haemoglobin variations and erythrocyte enzymes in Bengo Province"

CISA took part in the first ever GeoHealth Congress of Portuguese Language Countries hosted by the University of Coimbra, Portugal, between April 21st and 24th 2014.

In April 2014, CISA hosted the researcher Ryan Torkz from the University of South Florida. The objective of this visit involved the exchange of knowledge as regards Filariasis.

In March 2014, the Wolfson Wellcome Biomedical Laboratory of London's Natural History Museum hosted the CISA intern, Rossely Paulo.

CISA was in attendance at the 16th International Congress on Infectious Diseases that took place in Cape Town, South Africa, between April 2nd and 5th 2014.

Coming to a close on March 28 was the process of data collection from an adult population sample spanning three neighbourhoods in Dande Municipality.

Deepening knowledge on schistosomiasis and specifically on the molluscs responsible for its transmission, represent the core objectives of the study "Transmission of schistosomiasis in Angola".

The CISA team returned to the Cabungo neighbourhood and the Porto Quipiri School to hand out the parasitological analysis results on the prevalence of Schistosomiasis in faeces and urine samples.

Three final year students from the Methodist University of Angola Clinical Analysis Undergraduate Degree are embarking on their internships at CISA from February to April of this year.
